Meet Our Founder, Dan Diebolt

How does the future look in the construction industry?
The future of construction is wide open and thriving. It’s busier than it’s ever been since 2007 when the economy declined. If you are in the downtown Atlanta area, you’ll notice big cranes everywhere. Over the last 10-12 years, people were financially cautious. Corporations and businesses with a great deal of money are spending right now.

What do you like most about your job?
Being able to drive out of the city to different locations and places and seeing the results, knowing that “I did that, my company built that”.

What was the career path that led you here today?
I’ve always been open-minded. When I was 21 years old, I purchased houses and apartments, rehabbed them myself. I enjoyed the construction end of it. I didn’t like being the landlord, but I liked the construction projects. I kept moving forward with it, 40+ years later.

What is currently happening within your company?
I’m approaching retirement age, we are setting the company up to sell to the employees within 6 years. I want to be involved but I don’t want to be responsible. Everything about the company has changed over the past couple years. We’ve added on new customers and have made significant changes to our business approach.

What is your favorite car?
I guess I like Ferrari’s right now, there’s not a car that I don’t like. I even like junkie cars. I like fast cars. I’ve been very fortunate over the years. I’ve had very special cars, one-of- a-kind Mercedes race car that they only produced one of. I’ve owned over half a dozen and sold them this past year. It’s time for me to pass it on and let someone else be the curator of it. I’ve reached 286 miles an hour before, was trying to obtain my 300mph license and fell short.
